Oh My God! Tara Sivec can make the most unusual things hilarious and this book is just one more in the string of very odd and hysterically funny wit that comes from her brain.Ava is destined to work alongside all of her family at Seductions and Snacks, the combo business between pleasure and pleasure that was started by her mom and her mom’s best friend many years ago. I am not sure which is odder, that her mom wants her to sell the sex toys and confections or that Ava doesn’t want to sell them.
Ava has a passion for sure, but it has nothing to do with the bedroom, well except that is where her closet is at. She has a big sense of fashion and has started a blog showcasing her amazing talent for the fashion industry. Now she just needs to get her mom on board with the idea and she needs to get away from the sex toys and confections life her mom has created. Then you throw in Tyler and her world is anything but normal. She is not in a relationship with him. They are just having sex. And every time they have sex, Ava swears that is the last time. But Tyler knows better… he wants more from Ava.
But there is so much more to Tyler than Ava ever could possibly realize. He has this ridiculous fetish for My Little Ponies and he knows his way around the “Seductions” part of the business and he doesn’t even work there. But he is Gavin’s best friend and anyone that has read the Chocolate Lovers Series, knows that Gavin was brought up on the “Snacks” part of the business… But there is so much more to Tyler than just the crazy guy who thinks that Gavin’s mom is the MILF of the century. He has his own crazy life full of complete chaos. He is looking for the one thing that he has never known existed until his birth certificate was deemed false. Wait… what? But more than all of that he has this undying passion for the sweet and talented Ava and as much as he wants to be a part of the family business, he knows that Ava doesn’t want to be a part of it. But there is one more little thing you have to know about Tyler… his obsession with My Little Ponies is just a little bit crazy.
Can Ava finally get out of the family business and dive into what she really loves? Can Tyler find a great job talking about the things he really loves? Together can they find what they are looking for in love? Or will this be one pony short of a rainbow ending?
Tara Sivec always makes me laugh when I read these books. She is such a dynamic author that can take the insanely off the wall and turn it into a really sweet love story. I don’t know how she does it but these characters are all off their rockers but they have so much fun and seem to enjoy the insane world they are a part of. It is a hilarious look at romance in the sexiest way possible. If you haven’t read these books, I would venture to say you are missing out! I love them and Passions and Ponies is absolutely no exception.

Ava Gilmore is the daughter of one of the Snacks and Seductions founders but it is not her goal at all to take over the sex-toy and treats selling business, much to her mother's dislike. Apart from the occasional fooling around with her childhood friend's best friend Tyler Branson and her occasional fashion blogging, there's not much that interests her, and her choices - or lack thereof - will soon cause her troubles with her family.
But Tyler Branson has family issues too - his parents finally admit to him that his father is not his actual father, and he is therefore desperate to know who his father his. Maybe his father will be the one who passed if My Little Pony addiction onto him? Will Ava help him find his father or will she eventually be turned off by his "Brony" ways?
Well, first and foremost, if you ever think of reading Tara Sivec books; especially the Chocoholics and Snacks & Seductions series, make sure you master the art of second degree. The aforementioned books are outrageously hilarious, and very much lack in seriousness. They are all about sex, weird sexual practices and highly inadequate sexually themed cursewords. But again, this is harmless and meant as a joke more than a reality. If jokes about anal sex, dildos or kink are not your thing then leave this book be.
But if you are in for a fun and uncomplicated read, then please help yourself. Passion and Ponies is a relatively short read (2 hrs will be sufficient), and it is all about laid-back hilariousness. But this is all you can expect from it...
I knew what to expect; but I was still a bit disappointed (as I was with the first book in the Chocoholics series) that the storyline was flat and predictable - it is no masterpiece of suspense and intrigue and how get to figure out quite quickly how things will turn out for Ava and who Tyler's actual dad is. But that being said, it was a fun read.
Now would I recommend it? I'd say if you are not picky and like a good laugh, yes. But if you are looking for more polished books, and perhaps haven't read the previous books in the series, than I'd say you can safely skip this...
